For a classic wood deck, we recommend Mangaris Mahogany or select quality red cedar, extremely attractive woods that have excellent weather-resistant properties. We also suggest pressure-treated Wolmanized wood, which is treated with a preservative and fungicide that makes it ideal for in-ground as well as above-ground uses.
Pressure Treated Wolmanized
Treated with a copper-based preservative and an efficacious fungicide, pressure-treated Wolmanized wood is ideal for applications including decks, retaining walls, fences, picnic tables, planter boxes, walkways, sill plate and structural members. With products suitable for both above ground and in ground contact uses, it comes with a limited warranty for most residential applications.
Red Cedar
Ridgefield Supply carries select quality western cedar in 16’ and 20’ lengths. Red cedar is ideal for decking due to its natural beauty, its weather-resistant properties, and its resistance to bug infestation. Western-grown cedar logs are preferable to inland-grown logs due to richer color, tighter knot structure, and finer grain.
